Download 7Zip from 7-Zip | The Best Zip Compression Utility and right click the file, select 7zip, and extract

you want winrar. 7-zip can have problems with correctly compressing large files.

You gotta be kidding me! 7zip is the best one out there and winrar costs money, 7zip is open source! SUPPORT OPEN SOURCE!

as far as compression they are equal. 7-zip will make some files smaller than winrar and visa versa. however it is a fact that on some large files 7-zip will corrupt them while compressing them. i strongly recommend steering clear of 7-zip, even though it is free. by the way yell in your post is not going to make me change my opinion.

Sorry about that, but the guy above needed a uncompresser, and thus not to compress anything. If you think that 7zip will corrupt large files, ok, but i dont think you should say "i strongly recommend steering clear of 7-zip" since its a minor thing for a guy like that. Also, the point wasn't that the program is free, its open source, so others can help in correcting its bugs, even myself or you.
    Again, i apologize for yelling

Doesn't the OS have a built-in zip file extractor?

Yes. If it's not working, something is wrong.
