    Win7 hates my password...

I recently built a new machine & I installed Win7 Ultimate x64 on it. I have been using it for a couple weeks now without a password set up but have just decided to set one up. I created the password & when I rebooted it would accept it. So I went in under Admistrator & removed it & tried again. This time I entered my name, which is only four letters & I did in all in lower case. Rebooted & it still won't accept my password. So WTF? I want to set up at least one secure user account on this machine but it rejects any passwords I set them up with.

EDIT: Now get this little catch. If I use my laptop to make a remote desktop connection when I login it accepts my password!

I understand you had an account without a password. Then you decided to give it a password and it would not take.

My suggestion and its only a hunch, if my above scenario is correct, make a new account and try to give it a password.

    VERY weird!
That worked. I created a new account & then a password & it's not locking me out of that one. Now I have to go through & set all my preferences all over again on the new account though.

Sorry but i will not give out my forensic recovery tool to a person with only one post.

You have to be an established user to get access to it.

How do I know know who you are?
