    Desktop Icons: recycle bin

I'm sure this has been answered before somewhere but I just don't know where it would be. I have successfully made a copy of the recycle bin and pinned it to the task bar. Yeah. Now; how do I remove the original recycle bin from the desktop. I've done some goggling and I'm unable to find some clear, simple, straight forward instructions. Having a clean looking desktop is awesome for me but the wife could care less....lol.

In control panel click personalization, then at top left click change desktop items, then simply untick any icons you dont want
