Certain Folders not visible in Explorer

    Hi All,

I copied my movies, photos and a few folder to the new Win 7 (32 bit) setup from my external HDD to the D drive. I later found that certain folders were not visible in the explorer, though they were accessible by entering their path in "run" or explorer bar.

I have the option of "View hidden files" selected, so its not that trivial issue. Seems like some bug, since, only a few folders are not visible.

Please provide me with some solution, as this is a very annoying issue!

    Thanks in advance!
    Nikhil.

I realize this is an old thread. But, I'm experiencing the same issue. It is not simply a matter of not showing hidden files. I keep my data in the folder "C:\Home\My Documents" and have never had an issue. Today I copied some files from another PC to this location. Now, in Windows Explorer, the My Documents folder is missing from C:\Home, which appears to be empty. I can get to it by opening a command prompt and manually navigating to it from the command line. Or, I can click Start, Run, and enter the path C:\Home\My Documents, which opens the location. Finally, I can view the contents of C:\Home via the Documents library. But, not in Windows Explorer! What the heck is going on?

Hi, welcome to the forums :)

What heppens when you open explorer, click 'Organise' then Folder and Search options, click the view tab then check 'Show hiden files, folder and drives' then click ok?

It could be that it's now hidden...

    Same problem.
Show hidden files and folders is selected.
C:\Users\Username\Videos can only be reached by entering the full path.
C:\Users\Username\ does not display the folder Videos

Ahha solved it. One of these redirect folders.
Search actually finds \C:\Users\Username\My Videos which has exactly the same contents and is therefore presumably the same folder.

    How very confusing/irritating
