w7 beta ultimate: No internet after essential update

    Hi folks,
    I'm helpless.
Since w7 did that automatic update, I don't have any internet anymore.
I tried system restore, but it seems there's no available point.
    So I'm stuck here.
Is there a way to uninstall that essential update? Through the uninstall updates, it cannot be found (because it's essential?)
    Thx

Do you have an old system image, maybe safely on an external?.
    We should all have one.

If not try this In an administrator account type cmd in search
    click on the cmd
in cmd type sfc /scannow. That may correct the problem

    If not
Put your windows DVD in drive
Select (upgrade)It is now a repair install
    That should work.

    Hi, Welcome to Seven Forum

I addition to that i would also recommend to Run Network Diagnostic

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\Network and Internet

Yes, I also tried that, but the update gives the problem it seems (see below)

The problem is not related to other programs.

I have the beta on 3 computers running (some 32-b, some 64b) and it seems that the essential update always gives the problem.
I could roll back (system restore) to a previous state on the other computer, but my personal computer only gives a rollback to the essential update from 2 days ago, so the problem stays.
Now, I could not find a way to undo the update... (uninstalling updates does not work, I think because this is an essential update?)

I was planning to reinstall W7, but offcourse that's a huge work.

Anyway, In august I'll need to buy an official version, because the beta is ending.
But untill then I hope I can cure this

    Thx !!!

The RC expires June 1, but will begin shutting down every two hours on March 1.

RC is still beta-buggy and has a ton of monitoring software. I'd upgrade to RTM asap and activate when you can.

Many report success in-place upgrading RC using this workaround so you can even put off clean install until it needs it.

In Control Panel, go to Programs and Features, left hand pane, click viewed installed updates. once pane opens, choose your updates and select uninstall.

How about checking in the reg.

    HKLM>Software>Micrsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Uninstall.

Use the arrow key to move up/down and look for the update.
