How to Partition Primary Drive

Guys,

I have a new Laptop with Windows 7 Home edition (factory installed). It has only primary C: partition.

Is there any tweak to partition the HDD directly using windows without re-formatting the HDD

You will need to shrink the volume first, then you can create more partitions. Note: to increase available shrink space, try disabling hibernation, deleting the paging file, and then defragmenting your hard drive before shrinking.

You may have a D partition (recovery partition) - but it may be hidden. So don't be amazed if D is not available for drive assignments.

But I have a doubt. Will the above instructions can be performed for C drive? as it is the Primary partition?
