When I compare Windows 7 to Vista, I can't help but wonder who the target audience was.
Windows 7 looks like it was designed for people ages 4-16. Alot of cartoon wallpapers, and stuff like that.
I may not be a child, but I like it! Finally a Microsoft OS with a Nice Looking default wallpaper!

Hardly. There is a collection of 84 Win7 national edition backgrounds which are a popular download on the web. I install them as a slideshow on my Win7 installs.

I think I once caught a glimpse of the cartoon wallpapers you speak of. They are hardly representative of the wallpapers, much less the Win7 O.S. which IMO is the greatest invention since the computer.

i was going to say pricewise windows 7 is cheap then i realized thats only because i got the OEM version, so i agree what kind of teen has a near $300 to get windows 7? I think it was just made the way it is to look cleaner and more user friendly (even though it isnt at times)

I got the distinct feeling that they did the airy blue loading screen with hummingbird to appeal more to women.

I don't know about that, the loading screen is not something I see anyway so the look of it doesn't bother me, blue is more my husbands favourite colour anyway not mine.
If it had been red or something fiery or even the colours of nature then I might have taken more notice

$300 for what, Ultimate? Teenagers don't need bitlocker or domain facilities, and most don't speak 35 languages either, and since anyone can dual boot with XP then there's no need for professional come to that...
It's only ten times the price of Snow Leopard...
I'm a senior so I value functionality over really pretty. And I do pity the poor teenagers for not having enough money to buy Windows7. I wonder who buys Wii, XBox, and $200 sneakers? I'm just an old guy but even I had enough sense to pick the version of Windows7 that meets my needs and it sure didn't cost $200.
