Dual Boot vs Gamer User Profile

I use my computer for work and fun, so under windows xp i had a dual boot system. One boot for fun/games and one for work. I had this primarily as I was always afraid that if I ran win xp with a fun/games profile and a work profile then mucking about on one could destroy the other. I also liked the fact that both boots only had the essentials i needed for each mode of operation.

I am planning to run with an SSD with windows 7 and have an 80 gb drive limit. Rather than partition to 2x40 gb partitons I was thinking about using one install with 2 user profiles for each. Under Windows 7 is it any better than XP , what are the pro/cons in particular stability, security and data safety.

    Cheers,

    Dave -

Win7 is rock solid stable all the way. Never even hesitates.

Anything less should be considered a bad install or suspect hardware.

Speaking from a year's experience starting with beta bugginess smoothing out to instantaneous stability.

I ran dual users with built-in Admin and a named account admin. Saw no difference in performance with UAC turned off, which is built-in Admin default. So either/or.
