Problem Solved!!

My situation was that the new password I created didn't take and the old one wouldn't work either. I ended up changing the boot sequence in bios to read from the CD/DVD rom. (BIOS was not password protected) I then put in the original windows install disk. I then picked repair instead of install. One of the repair options was "RESTORE" I was then allowed to restore my system to an earlier time. This allowed me to use my old password. WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your suggestion,

i also have the same issue , this has just started recently. I changed my password for Windows and now every time I turn my computer off and back on it asks for my password. It did not used to do that and I don't want to have to type in a password. No one else uses my computer. It doesn't require a password if I only put it to sleep. Help?

Hi howie369, welcome to the Forum.

To change or remove that password open Control Panel & select Users, then select Create a Password for your Account, then where you have a password listed, delete the password & then where is says confirm password delete any words there as well, so that both are blank, so you are confirming no password.

You do of course have to be the Administrator rights to carry out this.

Didn't you write down the new password after you changed it?.

Have you tried what is suggested in the "Password Reset: Using System Restore in Windows 7" tutorial. If you can't get that to work with System Restore then we are unable to assist you any further, as the Forum rules forbid any password hacking or the like. (Rule 6)
