Birthdays/Appointments reminders

One of the disappointing things with windows 7 was that there did not seem to be a programme that was free and would give reminders of birthdays, appointments, tasks etc.
I have at last solved this problem and it was so easy....all I had to do was install a previous microsoft works program (mine was version 7) which will contain a calandar and is of course has a reminder facility. It will appear with a reminder each time you start the computer.
Hope some people find that information useful !

Windows Live Mail, also has a calendar. I personally, like the one at Yahoo. I use it all the time and very easy to access online. I like the email notification feature.

Live Mail has a calandar but not a reminder (the Works reminder can be set to open the day before)... so if you dont open the calendar in Live Mail you could miss the information.
