I tried to resist, but I can't. There is no such word as "legitimity." The proper word is "legitimacy."

Just think of how nuts you'd go, correcting grammar in a public forum... ... ... the mind wobbles!

Especially when half have English as second language!

It's the English speakers who can be hardest to understand.

Quite right... in other forums I have noticed that many European posters post with much more proper English grammar and punctuation than the people here in the States. I don't claim that mine is flawless, but I at least try. And for MacGyvr, an honorary badge.....

If your Windows 7 is retail Upgrade or Full Version then it can migrate to the computer of your choice as often as you wish.

Remove it from the old computer and install it to the new one. Wait to activate until installed, then insert key at Computer>Properties activation link.

It will likely require a quick robocall which trades a series of numbers that deactivates it on the old hardware signature and activates it on the new one.

See Product Key, Product ID and license check - Microsoft Community

I was trying to use a license key from a sticker on the bottom of a laptop, which was rubbed off to the point of illegibility. I put the machine on a scanner, and scanned it at high resolution, and viewed it greatly magnified on my screen, and was able to read all but three digits. One of the three unreadable digits was either a 3 or an 8. The second was a K, R or B. The third could have been almost anything.

So I created a text file with all the possible keys, and and let "Ultimate PID Checker" analyze them. About an hour later it reported that one key was valid, and the rest were not.

The Ultimate PID Checker

What a great tool!!!
