Locked out of my laptop

Hey guys, new to this forum and Im in a pickle

I have managed to forget my windows 7 password, when I logon it just says my user account name, no admin account option is there.....is there anyway to get the admin account active without having to log on?

try safe boot (f8) if good type cmd in search>right click run as admin< net user administrator /active:yes
it that doesnt., boot from win 7 dvd and use shift f10 to get to a cmd prompt. then type net user administrator /active:yes
if that doesnt work let us know

Just tried safe mode, but it still asks me to enter the user password. As for the win 7 dvd, my laptop came preloaded with win 7

Just successfully helped another member activate the Default Administrator account here:

The other solution is to download software to edit NTFS passwords.

I always use live boot CD's for this makes it pretty easy to edit or remove passwords


passwords only stop the novice!

Well ophcrack didnt work, it could find a password, i used the vista version.
