Downloading that driver from the website didn't work. The sound device is IDT High Definition Audio...any other suggestions to get the buttons on the keyboard to work?
Wait a minute, ON the keyboard or are the buttons separate?
Sorry, i told you to install the wrong drivers, install the keyboard ones from the website if the volume controls are ON the keyboard.

The only drivers on the website for keyboard is "Dell Wireless Desktop Keyboard and Mouse Bundle" or an "ALPS Touchpad" which I have neither. Which driver do I pick?

Not quite yet. AJWILLIAMS, you have the same laptop I do. When you start it up and the Dell boot screen appears, press F2 (don't hold down fn key). This will take you into the BIOS.

Click on System configuration, then on function key behaviour. Set it to 'Multimedia Key First', and then press OK (or something similar like Apply) down the bottom to save and exit.

Now when your laptop boots into windows, try the volume keys. They should work without holding down the Fn key! I personally find this mode a lot better, as I never really use the function keys in programs.
