In a multi-boot scenario I have been so used to being able to plonk things from one OS on to another's desktop (or other folders). Once the GodMode button was activated in both my Windows 7's I now can no longer access their desktop folders (only) from my Vista OS's.
"Windows Explorer has a headache and must close" or words to that effect.....GRRRR.
So now I have to evaluate whether or not to keep this shortcut in my Windows 7's.
The problem does go away if one deletes the shortcut.
That's very curious. I have been using this kind of shortcut for a long while - a year or more. Never had any issue of any kind.
I don't know why having a shortcut to All Tasks would have any effect on the ability to move files/folders from one o/s desktop to another.
Yet if you are able to stop the problem by removing it - then recreate the problem by reinstating it - who can say.
'Tis curious indeed. I'm left scratching my head on that one.
I can only assume that the shortcut somehow alters permissions on the desktop.
"GodMode" works fine for us on Windows 7 64 bit and Windows Server 2008 R2.
TTS is the same as that on the Control Panel as would be expected.
You still need the work around C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Speech\SpeechUX\sapi.cpl
if you want to display both 32 and 64 bit TTS Voices
Been looking at the recurring GodMode thread thats come around again and someone gave me this list of alternate strings for other features, thought some of you might like them, can be handy for creating direct shortcuts etc

Godmode is this string (still not sure why everyones calling it godmode?)
{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
To use any of them create a new folder and rename it any word/s with the string as the file extension
eg for god mode, AnyFileName.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
Godmode only refers to the fact that you get access to just about everything control panel related in a single folder. That's all it does.
FYI: More Canonical Names of Control Panel Items
