    Is 7068 really worth switching?

From everything I have read, 7068 is nothing special. I am 20 minutes from having the .iso so.........I can't help myself. Are we sick? 7057 has worked great! I have no reason to switch but 5 minutes after getting the .iso....I'm doing it.

Is there anything of note in 7068 that is better than 7057 besides fixing the desktop .ini issue? The other stuff is "better compatibility with gadgets"...I don't care about that. I want some meat.....those pipes will be clogged when the RC comes out.

From my opinion and with all the problems I've had with the builds 7048 and 7057, yes it's worth trying the build 7068. Feels like using the build 7000. It's as stable, fast, with more features and less bugs. Sticking to this build (7068 x64) until the official RC here.

If you're not really sure, you can always clone your install and try an upgrade, so if you're not happy with it you can still revert to whatever build you're using.

Hehe, chris, if i had a dollar everytime i have seen this statement..... just fill in the 7068 with whatever build #

I have still rejected the temptation, even tho i have the previous builds on a drive.... i'm more of the pack-rat type.... i doubt i'm alone here tho

I said I was going to wait for the RC too. But that was when the RC was due in April...

7048 is treating me well and I have no reason to update.... except it has a new number

    Well, I've got a dilemma :)

I've got the ISO downloaded and burned to disk ready, but

    1. I have a bit of work to do today
    2. Sunday is my system housekeeping day
    3. 7057 is working great

So for once I'm going to wait, finish my work , do all by tidying up and backups , and upgrade and play tomorrow

Nah, I'll really stick with this build until the official RC. I've had enough of trying unofficial builds. Had too many problems with 7048 and 7057 like random reboots and other random explorer crashes. I'll see past the RC if there's any build wroth trying and sticking on, since I gave up on Vista and switched to W7 as main OS since the build 7000.

Yes trying Windows 7 builds is kind of addicting, unlike Vista's... Reminds me a bit of XP beta and rc builds a bit. Vista was too much of a mess... after trying the RC and a build before the final release, I gave up thinking "Whatever... Miscroft is going to release a beta OS to the public" and stuck to XP and then XP64 until they release the SP1 for Vista.

I doubt many people will miss Vista once W7 is finalized and on the shelves...
