I think he means (the OP) that he has onboard sound and that he's still looking for a sound card. Confused me for a minute, too.

I have read a lot of problems on this site about crashes and BSOD but I have to say I am impressed so far with my new PC. I understand there may be people installing 7 on a less than perfect machine but for a new PC 7 it has been kind of nice. I just got through classes on OS that was on Vista and I have to say the instructor had problems. That is one of the things that bug me. My classes (new one monday 7:30-10:00pm) are all out of date. I am already 3/4 of the way through my next classbook and it's all on 2000 and XP. I guess what I'm trying to say is my hat's off to all of you for your excellent support. I can't imagine how all of you stay up to date. In other words.....

    I hate you
Lots of problems are operator generated. No matter what the OS. Nothing bothers me more than cleaning up a computer for someone with loads of spyware and an active virus or two, downloading and installing antimalware and a decent anti-virus for them, only to have to go back in 30-60 days and see that they have never run the programs that I installed.

I guess they don't have time to check their system, but they have time to be shut down while someone does it all over for them. I like to help people, but how about a person helping himself from time to time?

Oh, well, it's still fun. And you don't really hate us, do you?

Nah! This site is great. Although the knowledge shown here is a little overwhelming.
(My sys has no sound card as I am still messing with my MS Forcefeedback stick.) I will get it to work.

Which is why I charge for every cleaning. I don't give warranties on Malware/Virus clean up, or OS/software installs in general. you never know what the user is going to do and I would be fixing it for free constantly. After a while, they start getting the message cause they don't want to spend anymore money. But a lot of times, they end up blaming the system, or windows (mostly windows) or the A/V suite and rarely themselves.

And yes, I have told customers pretty much straight up that they are the cause of their problems.
