    Using .png's as icons?

Looking to change out some of my desktop icons, is there anyway to use a .png image as opposed to the .ico?

There is no easy way to do this that I know of; but there is a free online service to convert png to ico ConvertICO.com and you could probably also find other software to convert them for you.

But I will have to use regular .ico format?

Usually the conversion reduces quality, which sucks.

    Hello Diesel,

You can use the trial version of Axialis IconWorkshop to create high quality 256x256 pixel icons.

    Hope this helps,
