    Access Denied to Taskmgr

Got a new laptop with Windows 7 64bit in December but for the last 2 weeks I have not been able to run the taskmgr ... I suspected it to be a virus/malware and installed newest version of Norton 360.... This has however not resolved the issue

Has anyone had a simular problem and found a solutions?

    Please advice

    Thanks

    Martin

Welcome, Martin! You made the right decision posting here; we will get it resolved.

You are right; it could be malware. Download Malwarebytes free and do a scan.

Also, have you tried a System Restore? Try restoring to a time before the problem occurred.

    Hope this helps,

    Hello Martin,

    Welcome to seven forums :)

Alternatively, you can try the steps given in the below link:

"Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator" error message

Note: The error message may be different in windows 7. The error message in the above link usually occurs for XP. However, it may fix the issue :)

This is probably something that you know, already, but there are at least 2 was to get to task manager. Alt+Cntrl+Delete. You can also right click on task bar. Did you try both?
