Hi Asprin624,

Take a look at these Tutorials. I suspect that you are talking about Jump Lists.

Start Menu - Change Number of Recent Programs to Display
Jump Lists - Change Number of Recent Items to Display

I suggest that you click on Use Default Settings.

Win7-32, until I get around to migrating to Win7-64. Win 2003, 2008 and XP.
To close Sticky Notes

I found earlier today that while you are in the note, pressing <Alt><F4> at the same time closes the window and the note is saved. When you reopen Sticky Notes that Note is what you will see.

Microsoft did a lousy implementationon on this gadget. You should be able to right click and choose Delete or Save. If you Close the Window, it should be saved automatically, because that is generally what you want to do anyway. A very useful program killed by poor implementation.

Ask Erica

Windows 7

How do I keep my sticky note on top of the screen, instead of disappearing when I click outside it. I'd like to keep them there so I can see them all the time.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I would like this also. When I had an nvidia video card you could use nview manager to do this for ANY window you want, even things like transparent windows, etc. I'm happy with ATIs better performance, power comsumption, and prices now, but the customization software sucks and their forums are absolutely garbage and run by lock/delete hungry mods like Spyre.

Windows 7 Professional x64

I just searched Google for "save sticky notes" to see if this has been resolved. Since this is the first result but the conclusion in this thread wasn't what I was looking for I'll post what I found that worked for me.

5 lines of AutoHotkey code solved this for me that pressing ctrl+s in the sticky note window automatically saves that note in a text file : SaveStickyNotes.txt

How to use:
(Install autohotkey if you don't have it) Save that code into a .ahk file, run said file whenever you want to be able to save your sticky notes by pressing ctrl+s within them (put it in startup if you always want this feature).

When you turn something into a text file you lose the hyperlinks, so you may as well use Notepad instead of Sticky Notes.

Somehow I have changed the display on my desktop, which has resulted in sticky notes having default colour borders, but with white box inside. How do I "undo" this to make sticky notes solid colours again? (also border around desktop has changed colour but I can live with that) thank you in...
Anything better than 7's Sticky Notes?
Do you guys know any program better than Windows 7's Sticky Notes? The StickyNote 9.0 of Tenebril was the first one that caught my eye. It has some realistic 3D stuff and all, but then I have to spend some cash for it. If you guys know any freewares, that would be great.
Sticky Notes
I've used a 3M program before which had issues with multiple screens sometimes, so I was happy to see the new standard sticky app. I'm a bit disappointed with MS for letting this behave like any other app window - when I click the show desktop button, I'd like to see all my stickies that I...
