    Folder Redirection Problem

I successfully created a partition D: to hold my media files. I wanted to use folder redirection to move My Music, Videos, and My Pictures to the D: drive. Starting with Videos folder, I changed it from C:\Users\Pestoman\Videos to D:\

The problem is that I changed it to D:\ instead of D:\Videos. Now in My Documents, I have an icon for my D drive. When I right click and open properties, I can access the Location tab, but when I try to restore default it say "Access is denied."

So how can I restore my Videos folder?

No guarantees but right click, security, advanced, ownership.

If that does not work try to use the secret administrator account.
Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable[2]=User Accounts

Should work, but not to disappoint, there are not guarantees.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting the "access is denied" message because windows now views that fold as my D drive, and it won't let me redirect all the files in it to Users\...\Videos

Is there something I could change in the registry to correct this problem?

Try a restore point just before you made the mistake, that way you can redo.

If that does not work or you dont have a point back far enough, a system Image surely will.

So I successfully redirected to folder to D:\Videos. Thanks!

But, I'm running into another problem. I'm completed locked out of my C:\Users\...\Videos folder. It says folder is not accessible. Access is denied. When I open folder properties and click on the security tab it says I must be an administrator to access. My profile does have administrator status, but when I open up the advanced security settings it shows that "unable to display current owner" I try to change the owner back to my account and I get "access is denied" This happens even when I access it through the main administrator account.

Any suggestions for fixing this problem. The owner of the folder should be my main user account.

When you made your D: drive your storage drive all you had to do was create a new folder and name it Pictures, another called Videos and then cut and paste your pic's and videos into their respective folders. When you start moving system folders and you make a mistake this is what you run into.
