    Don't Like Windows 7

I don't like Windows 7 at all , its just frustrating me with all the difference in simple things like windows explore, the way it handles my music, videos amd photos.

Is there any way I can "Downgrade to Windows Vista" using my current Windows 7 activation key??? as I have a Vista installation DVD but that key is used on my laptop? Thanks

I am sorry that you do not like Win 7. I do not know of a way to downgrade. But, maybe, if you tell us about some of your frustrations, someone could help.

Since the key is most likely an OEM key, that would be illegal.

Coincidentally enough, one of Win7's biggest criticisms is that it was hardly a change from Vista....

I assume when you say "the way it handles music, pcitures, etc" that you mean the Libraries. You don't have to use the Libraries. It does confuse some people because it is more abstract than using just files and folders.

Do you still have the Vista restore partition (D partition) on your disk? If you did a normal Win7 upgrade, that should still be there. If that is a yes, tell me the make of your PC and I might have the installation procedure.
However, you might want to use Windows 7 a little longer. I was not very much in favor of it at first, but it kind of grows on you. There are very few things from the old Vista days that you cannot do. It may take a little research though. For the photo and video processing make sure you download the programs from Windows Live.

I don't think that would be illegal if the key was used for one OS only (can't move it off the machine anyhow). He might have to call MS though to reactivate the key since it is now activated for Win7.

Agreed and most forum members agree. But lets remember everyone is different the OP, may not like the OS for his own reasons, and he is entitled to his opinion. I just hope that we can make the experience a little more pleasanat if he cannot down grade.

While it was ambiguous in his post, when he referred the "Vista key off his laptop" I assumed he meant off a different computer.....

Yes its mainly the Librarys that I don't like.

The screensaver options are very poor, I used to like the Windows Vista Photoscreen saver, but thats gone in 7 and only really poor XP like ones are there
I have tried to use the "Windows Live Picture Gallery" one its very simular to the vista one I was used to but its all jerky on the picture changes and not smoothly animated like on Vista?

I have a FULL retail copy of Windows 7 so it can be put on any one machine, and I was hoping I could have "Downgraded to Windows Vista" what I was used to using.

These window "shakely stuff" I find really anouing too is there a way of disabling that feature as I like to open two windows side by side, but now if I try, Windows 7 maximised them and i loose the one completely lol.

The sound too has problems, I get a "clicking" sound before the sound is omited (played), its like Windows is switching something on and off before playing the sounds?
