    Turning off Monitor


    Is there a way to turn off the monitor without itself being dimmed off by power settings? Thanks.

    Hello Peter, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    Yes, in your Power Plan Settings, you can set to not have the monitor dimmed, then set it to "Turn off the Display" after how many minutes of idle time that you like.

Using Win 7 Pro 64bit. Every time I turn off the monitor I either see a blank screen, or the taskbar is gone or the PC is in terminal sleep (can't be awakened). I usually have to reboot. If I leave the monitor on, these things don't happen. Any hints as to why this might occur? Thanks. PRS
I have a HP desk top with an older hp 19" monitor. Some mornings when I "wake" the computer up the monitor does not come on. I have to unplug it from the power and plug it back in. Anyone know how to fix this other than keeping it on all the time? Thanks
