Dell Inspiron 1405 and Windows 7

I have a dell laptop configured as such:

    Intel(R)Core(TM)2 CPU T5200 @ 1.60GHZ
    2.0 GB Memory
    160 GB HD
Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini card
    Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth
Intel(R) 82801G USB Universal Host Controller
    Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express
    SigmaTel high Definition Audio

Currently it has 2 GB of memory and I plan to upgrade the memory to 4 GB (Cruical) with 2 - 2 GB memory sticks. What I would like to do is to install the Windows 7 Home Premium. I guess that this system is test for me as I have reloaded this laptop with Windows XP Media Condition and I have the cd's in order to do this. If I am successful with this then I plan to upgrade Windows 7 on my Dell XPS-410 desktop.

I guess that my question is this - has anyone upgraded Windows 7 on this particular laptop configured similarly to the way that mine is configured?

Any help that you go give me would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi and welcome

I have and am using at ATM. when I first installed win 7 ultimate I had 1 gig of ram and it ran well. I now have 4 and I love it. Install the top ram chip was a bit difficult but definitely doable.

Mine runs aero with no problem. Let me know if you need more info

I think the best place to start is Microsoft. Go to this site and find out their opinion about your computer
