USB sticks perform better when formatted in in Fat32. Read/write is faster.

This is mostly true. It just prevent unnecessary reads and writes to the NTFS metadata crap.

when formatted FAT and you plug them in and unplug them with out using safely remove hardware and then go to plug them back in somewhere else you will get the system wanting to run check disk on them just like Windows 98 days but when formatted NTFS you don't get that all the time

True and worse than you think. You never want to format a USB Memory drive anything but FAT32. Why? Because if you format it NTFS you shorten the life of your memory stick by 2/3. That is because NTFS writes, date, date modified, date accessed, etc. and all the ACLs permissions etc. All those writes go against your 10,000 read/writes. Even just opening the file NTFS updates the data.

a couple other things to take into account is that in order to store files larger than 4 gigs in size you would need NTFS file system plus if you have a flash drive over 32 gigs in size again you would need NTFS

Point taken...however I keep buying the newer ones that are 32GB and 64GB not so cheap. <grin>. But on a 2GB that is just a file transfer flash drive that you don't care about the data...I would do that.
