oooo sry
That's what I get - "Thank you for your interest in Windows 7! The evaluation version you are attempting to download is for IT Professionals only.". Oh well I figure it couldnt hurt to ask.
Here is how MS is attempting to make good on only providing 32 bit downloads for Student Edition:
Microsoft Fixes Windows 7 Student Edition Upgrade Problems - Windows 7 student edition - Gizmodo
You are entitled to either 64 or 32 bit with each purchased license.

Thanks gregrocker - I was able to download the iso and try out 64bit win7 from the gizmodo site.
apologys if i shouldnt be posting this... but they dont check whether you actually are a It professional..... i lied, and got the download
edit sorry bob, didnt see your post only read page 1
I would, except after trying out 64 bit I found one of my pieces of equipment doesn't work and I can't get 64 bit drivers for it. So I'll stick with 32 bit for now. But thanks for that link - the presale upgrade version iso they let me download wouldn't let me choose 64 bit install - but the link you gave did.
