Mysterious Arrow

Sometimes I click on something and an arrow with a dot on it, or a dot in the middle of two arrows, shows up out of nowhere and the page starts scrolling. It's a minor annoyance, but I'd like to know why this happens and how to avoid it. Thanks!

Lol.... that indicates that page scrolling is enabled... Mine is activated by using the scroll wheel as a button on my mouse..

You're pressing the mouse scrolly wheel in i.e. the "centre button".
Press it again to remove.
Or when you have that icon, move the mouse up and down to scroll the webpage you're on. It's useful on very Loooooooooooooooooong webpages.

Thanks - I am using a laptop with a track pad. Guess it's one of those things that's just gonna happen. Didn't get that in XP.

So I have had a problem recently. One specific drive in my machine keeps disappearing from my computer. I know this could be the sign of a failing drive. I doubt that very much for one good reason. Mysterious files
Hi, I was looking for a particular file in my Windows folder and came across some strange looking files of which I am suspicious (see attached jpeg). They are each about 1K, without extensions. I have not opened them to see what's in them, but I use Norton Internet Security and have it constantly...
