7057 vs. XP - Vista and other versions of 7

I'm sure some of you have seen this but some guy did some tests and 7057 looked really good. I hope they get these RCs released so we can get down the road to RTM! Also, is the RC going to be available to the public? I can't seem to "google" this information.

Forget about 7061, 7069, or anything else as far as public availability. The RCs will not be made public by all indications. The bulk of anyone running the 7057 or anything else past the 7000 are those who managed to find a torrent leak or are in regular testing.

The 7000 build in use blasts XP and Vista both in startup times! So far the beta is still running strong after putting it through some rigorous tests here with a varisty of things. By August 1st however I'll likely be seeing a trashed registry and need to wipe the primary anyways!

I run 7000 on my home desktop, 7022 on my Dell Mini9 & 7048 on my HP laptop. They all run incredibly well. I like 7048 the best. It's fast and has never balked at anything I've asked it to do. A shame it will expire in 4 months.

Just think in a few months after that you'll likely be running the finished 7 instead!

I find myself thinking about one of those expiration date erasers. I would never DO such a thing since it is probably illegal, but it crosses my mind. I am growing fond of Windows 7. Microsoft is glad to hear us all talking about how we like Win7. It's good software..........

    7048 doesn't expire until MAR 2010

For a server you still can't beat Windows 2003 however (even the 32 bit version supports a reasonable amount of extended memory) and you can still have multi-meda on it as well if you must on a server.

Windows XP Pro 64 bit is also pretty good if you've got all the drivers for it -- this is probably the FASTEST OS microsoft has produced to date

pitty it never made mainstream (or maybe not as I'm sure given the performance of XP Pro 64 it might have delayed Windows 7 for a while -- but at least it would have saved that VISTA nightnmare people had at the start --sp1 and sp2 are better however --but that's another topic).

I'll probably keep XP PRO 64 bit for a while after W7 -- can run a load of VM's on it anyway for other needs.

I like W7 for laptops -- this IMO is FAR better than XP and VISTA doesn't even merit a mention.

    Cheers

I wish my 7048 was okay until your date....I would be way happier. I nned to get 7057!!! I don't think it would be legal to erase the expiration date.

Perhaps another reason to use 7057. It doesnt mention any expiration date:

I have one question. Do the Windows keys work for all versions of the beta? From what I've seen they do but how about 7057? Will they work for that version? I'm switching but I need to be able to have a key.
