wont let me delete a file : (

    wont let me delete a file : (


    there is a .flv file on my desktop that i can't delete it...

    i downloaded a zip file contains that .flv ... so i unzip it ....and the .flv was in a folder....and which i can delete that folder along with the .flv .... but i also made a copy of the .flv file onto my desktop ......and i could not delete that .flv : (

    once i click on "delete"
    it shows "Preparing to Recycle" from Discovering items
    Time remaining: Calculating
    Items remaining : Calculating
    speed: Calculating

    Hold shift + delet
    Preparing to delete ....... the rest are the same as above


    1: everytime i rename the file , = Windows Explorer is not responding ....
    2: click on the .flv properties .... nothing happened....
    3: run the .flv ....nothing happened...
    4: try to replace with another file with a same name = doesn't work.
    5: try to delete the file with del command ....= no luck : (
    6: boot from safe mode ....still won't let me delete it
    7: it won't let me move the .flv to other folders as well ....

    please help me out

    Hi, Welcome to SF,

    You could try using Unlocker
    Its a great tool to delete or unlock files.

    Hi jack ...

    tried with unlocker ....no luck : ( ..

    im pretty sure that .flv is not using by other program : )

    are there any other ways ?

    Use the Unlocker and find what process it's using

    Hi Jack

    there is no process is using the .flv file....
    : (

    redsoxm16 ..

    i don't think it is a malicious file ....else Microsoft Security Essentials would of picked it up

    OK Lets try this.
    Right Click > Properties > Change the Default program to something else then try to delete

    when i right click on it .flv file > Properties ... nothing happened ....no properties window pop up

    use malwarebytes unlock and delete function i use it to get rid of files that wont delete and programs it will remove the file from the system.

    this will work trust me.

    I had a problem this week with a J-peg file that would not delete. Every time I would go to delete it, it would say the file did not exist. When i tried to look at properties, it would open up but would say 0bytes and have no info about it. Rebooting didnt help, nothing helped. So I opened the folder the file was in with 7zip and right clicked the file and renamed the extension to a .txt file. I was then able to delete it.
