edit program files as Standard User?

    Win 7 Helpers,
I would like to know how to configure Win 7 ownership/permissions so I can modify files in my C:\Program Files folder when logged in as Standard User. I can do this when logged in as administrator (after configuring ownership/permissions,see below) but when I try to edit>save when logged in as Standard User, I get 'Access is Denied' and no 'over-the-shoulder' prompt for admin password. FYI, I configured ownership/permissions for this program folder when logged in as Standard User by right clicking the root folder of the program: Security>Advanced>Owner>Edit>Admin_UserName>click on 'Owner of Underlying Containers and Object' box>OK. After Win 7 distributes the rights click OK.
Then I right clicked the root folder again: >Security>Edit>Add>Admin_Username>Check Name>OK>Full Permissions>OK.
How can I configuring the settings such that, I can edit and save files in this program folder when logged in as Standard User via Admin_password prompt?

I'm using Win 7 Pro on a Lenovo T500 laptop.
    Thanks for any pointers.

You could try to Take Ownership by Elevating through Command Prompt

Start > CMD > Right Click and Run as administrator Then it will prompt for Administrator User name and Password Type that in

Then Follow this Tutorial Take Ownership of file - Vista Forums Option1 - Method 2

    Hope this helps,

Thanks Capt. No luck with the takeown /f switch in elevated command prompt- maybe this is specific to system files not program files? Anyway, I get error msgs saying the C:\Program Files\<path> address is an invalid argument; the path address is correct.
BTW, I can edit program files running my text editor as administrator-just seems strange there isn't a way to edit on-the-go as Standard User with Admin password prompt.
