    Task Scheduler not Running Tasks

I created two tasks (Utorrent and Flashget) to run at 12:15 am every night but the tasks refuse to startup. I usually hibernate my computer at night so i have the two tasks "wake computer up to run this task" (the computer does wake itself up) The only way i can get it to run is if i manually run the tasks myself.

The settings i have for the two tasks are basically the same, they are:

    • Run whether user is logged in or not
    • Run with highest privilege
    • Wake the computer to run the task
    • Allow task to run on demand
    • Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed
    • Stop if the task is running for 3 days
    • If the task does not end when requested force it to stop.

Can anyone help find my error please?

    EDIT: Windows 7 Ultimate 6.1.7600 Build 7600
    Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz, 2799 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
Phoenix Technologies, LTD ASUS P5VD2-MX ACPI BIOS Revision 0902, 14/09/2006
    4GB Ram Installed 3GB Usable

Look in Task manager after your computer wakes up and see if one of the programs is running. I mean, something woke the computer.

I have 5 tasks I have created and they all run correctly with this setting:
Run only when user is logged on. It's worth a try to use this setting and see what happens. Since you hibernate you're still logged on.
Oh and does the task run on demand? When you highlight the task and click Run.

On the Action tab of the task properties sheet is the target Utorrents/Flashget .exe file?

Does Flashget run on demand?( Highlighting it's task and clicking Run.) Another thing to check are Utorrent/Flashget's properties ,options.settings, whatever and make sure they are configured Not to start up with Windows, and that they are not in any Startup folders.
Open up Regedit and navigate to: HKEY_Current_User\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run key:
    HKEY_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run key:
and make sure neither program is listed in the right hand pane, if they are delete them.
I had to do this with CoreTemp or else it's scheduled task would not run. In other words the only place the task should run from is the TaskScheduler.

Do you have any other tasks scheduled and do they run correctly? If so I would compare the tasks that run correctly with the ones that don't and try to find some difference between the two. Also check on the Program's websites and see if they have
help section, forums, docs. etc. The utorrent link I posted has a forum on the site. You can pose your question there.

Of the 5 tasks I have schedule none of them runs an .exe directly from Program Files.
I have a folder in Program Files that I install most of my 3rd party software to. maybe that has something to do with it, a permission thing or something.

One last thing do both Utorrent/Flashget work correctly otherwise. i.e. you can run them normally by clicking there respective Start menu shortcut or there .exe files in the programs folder?

OK i fixed my error, the reason why my tasks weren't running was because i selected Run whether user is logged in or not, it started working after i selected Run Only When User is Logged On
