Folders in C Program Files got error

    Hi all,

I want to ask one thing.
That is I have a program installed under "C:\Program Files\MyProgram\"
And my program will generate a log file if the program has some issues/errors with the folder name "PCLog" under "MyProgram" folder.
The full path will be "C:\Program Files\MyProgram\PCLog\"

However, when the program hit errors, it generate the file but I can't find the folder under "MyProgram" folder. Something wrong?

My program has a feature to browse excel file. When I use this program to browse under "C:\Program Files\MyProgram\", I can see this "PCLog" folder with an Lock icon on it.

    Any idea?

    Thanks.

    Hello Scsfdev,

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

I take it you cannot open this folder. In 7 the programs folder is a protected area. You need admin rights to change anything there and sometimes that's not enough. Try this: Take Ownership Shortcut.

You may have to also give yourself full rights. There is a link to how to do that in the 'Tip' box at the bottom of the tutorial.

    Hope this helps.
