Hi randycm98, "Welcome to The Seven Forums."
Go into Explorer.exe (file manager) click on "Organize" then "Folder Options." Under "General" click on "Restore Defaults." Hope that works for you. If you have changed any others they to will be reset.

Okay, been working on the problem. First I opened a .dll in notepad, then changed it back by doing basically the same thing. Go through the same steps as you did to open it in notepad, go to "Choose Default Program" then navigate to browse from there go into the windows folder then choose "System 32" folder. Then go to "systeminfo," double click, this will take you back to open with, from there click on "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file." This just work for me. If that doesn't work then we'll try to do something else. It did work for me..

Hello Randy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

In addition to Lee's post, you can download and use the DLL download in the tutorial below to restore it's default associations automatically for you.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
