He is suggesting that it is your graphics card and I would tend to agree. You may want to check that.

If you can access the computer, go to device manger (from search). Once there look for any yellow markers, especaially by display adaptors.

hmm....well this was released by ''Techreport'' in regards to the new 5 series range, maybe its a wider spread driver problem..??

Getting one of AMD's new Radeon HD 5000-series graphics cards? Then don't just expect your frame rates to increase. We've become aware of a puzzling, annoying, but otherwise harmless bug that seems to affect the entire Evergreen lineup.

Sometimes, out of the blue, the Windows mouse cursor doubles in size. No, we're not making this up: we actually observed the problem first-hand on an XFX Radeon HD 5770.
or maybe its not related at all...... but its a bit of a coincidence

To summarize to date:

We know that it is not any sort of virus.
It is a visual problem

I think that it is somehow related to the graphics card.

I think with Skunksmash input we found the solution quickly.

If you want we can try a repair install, but after that, I suggest that you get the graphics card checked.

Repair Install

You can reset the graphics card and hope, but I have my doubts.

To me, from this distance, it all sounds graphic card related. Don't you agree?
