How do I PERMANENTLY give app permission to run?

    Hi

How can I give permission for Windows7 to PERMANENTLY give permission to a particular application to run?

e.g. I am very fond of a desktop application called "Everything" - that quickly indexes and the searches very fast across all your file names for the text you enter. It's a great tool for speeding up finding files when you have no idea where the heck you saved them - but it's a pain that every time you open "Everything" (after a Win7 reboot) you are forced to manually give it permission to run - AGAIN.

if it is the open file security window that you are complaining about then you can disable them entirely by setting the enviroment variable: SEE_MASK_NOZONECHECKS = 1

If that is not the issue then I am not sure. Also that variable will stop all zone checking so dont do this if you dont feel comfortable doing that.

Now I'm confused - in general, I LIKE being asked for permission for things to run.
(I am hoping that new unwanted/malware/virus-like things may get caught at this point...)
However certain things (such this particular desktop search thing) I want to give PERMANENT permission to.

So I dont want to switch anything off globally...

    Hello Ship,

You could create a elevated shortcut for the program to use for this.

Elevated Program Shortcut without UAC Prompt - Create

    Hope this helps,
