If none of that worked,,,, do a clean install.

    That's your best option.

Reluctantly, I must agree with the others. If nothing else worked, bite the bullet, and do the reinstall.

Also dont forget that most computers come with an Administrator account on top of the main profile one. Unless deleted login should be Administrator with no pass. hope it helps!

I haven't been sucessful in finding the one that is Compatible with Windows 7 32-bit.

This current install (of Windows 7) is actually running pretty decent. It's just the annoyance of the Installer/Updating that is a PITA.

I hate doing clean installs on my system. Friggin takes days to get everything back the way I want it. Just venting......

Did you use Windows Easy Transfer, everything will go back except the programs. You can install the programs as you need them.

This probably isn't what you want to hear but you would have been done with a clean install by now, unfortunately that is your best option to get rid of your frustration. Everyone has given you all other options to try, so if that's not working for you, start fresh. Backup all your important data so you can move it back or try rich's suggestion of using easy transfer. Take a screenshot of all your installed programs so you can remember what to install to have them all back after your clean install.

I have used WET in the past....

Can I do an Easy Transfer to an External HDD, do a fresh install of Windows 7 and then do an Easy Transfer (from the External HDD) back to the fresh Windows 7 install ??

That is how it works, so yes

There have been problems with WET (I had none). I would also make another back up of valuable documents.
