how to make Power icon only visible when on battery

    Hello,

I'm used to see (Windows XP) the Power icon only when working on the battery of my laptop.
With Windows 7 it's always visible.
Is it possible to make is disappear when I'm not working on the battery?

    Hi robba,
I am not sure what icon you are talking about exactly...

Are you talking about the Battery Icon in taskbar?

So is only wanting to see the icon when you're on battery, when it's an almost identical icon.

yes but most of the time I don't work on battery and it bothers me because it has no function.
and no I'm not gonna add the icon when on battery.
    but why would you care.
I just ask if it's possible just like as in Windows XP I don't want a discussion wheiter I shouldn't care about the icon.

Hi robba and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

Sorry, but that is not possible. You can either have the icon displayed or not.

    robba,

The only way to turn off this icon is by Right-Clicking on the icon and click Turn off System Icons, A Window will pop up and then you can have a choice to either turn it off or on, Meaning it will remain off when when you have your laptop on battery.

I don't think there is a way to have come on when the battery is on. and Turn off when you are not using the battery.

    Hope this Helps...
