Windows 7: Language Bar on 7068

I just found that if you go into Keyboards and Languages and remove any extra keyboard languages (installed services) other than the default one, then the language bar will go away from the UAC screen.

Hi Shawn,

You're a genius - it works for whichever combo I set as default, as long as the others are removed.

Remove the other Keyboards - this leaves only the UK keyboard:

Works for languages as well.

Click the Add button and untick any languages - the Default one you have chosen doesn't have a tick - it is in bold. (Originally US had a tick)

No more pop ups.

LOL, I knew that if we bumped heads long enough, we would come up with a solution to it.

I reckon if you have more than one entry on the Keyboard screen (first screenshot), or the Language screen ( second screenshot) - it thinks they are "options".

I can see why I got the icon at logon - it is to select the option you want - so different users can select between them.

I reckon the pop up with the UAC prompt is a glitch.

Yeah, it must be a glitch. I never understood why it would have been on the UAC screen either.
