    Files disappear after download

I have windows 7 64 bit, and some programs and software I download work, others seem to disappear and can not be found after download. Even in complete search.

Are you using 2 different browsers? Are you prompted for where you want this downloaded file to go?

I have 2 different browsers but I only use firefox. I know where the file goes, but after I run the install and complete it, some times the program cannot be found.

ok so it's the program and not the downloaded file? And when you say program, do you mean the "desktop shortcut" or start menu icon?

When you're installing a software,it will prompt you to create a shortcut on your desktop or start menu. Did you skip that process?

Try to navigate your explorer to C:/Windows/ProgramFiles or C:/Windows/ProgramFiles(x86)

    Search your programs there.

Then create a shortcut of your newly installed software on your desktop.

When I say program, it's both. DirectX doesn't seem to be installing, some programs give a 'something.dll is missing', others just say, 'file cannot be found, please browse for it' and I browse for it but some of the files are missing.

Edit- DirectX seems to be working now after another reinstall, now it's just a program called pinnacle game profiler that seems to go missing no matter how many reinstalls! Even in the x86 program files the main file is missing.

Has this always been the case or is this a recent event?

Try reinstalling your program. See if the issue persists.

Hi, do you need this pinnacle game profiler, or is it something that was pre installed when you got the machine.

What version of Pinnacle game profiler you installed? The latest version is 4.9.

Take note that previous versions are not compatible with Win 7.
