D3ftOn3Z had tried that, key doesn't exist, thanks anyway

Thorsen is definitely a usb, has a photo on it but and no hiddenfiles or anything else
    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
If the key does not exist, create one. Right click on “Control” key -> New -> Key. Name it “StorageDevicePolicies” without quotes.

Now right click on this newly created key and then click New -> DWORD value and name it as “WriteProtect”.

Modify this key and give it a value 0. Make sure u choose "Hexadecimal" not "Decimal".

Well, I meant a dongle would still be a USB I am guessing you mean it is definitely a drive with accessible files on it. Just trying to think outside the box and I have seen dongles before and not been able to access them as an actual drive. Good luck friend

Try the bootable CD anyway. Thumb drives do not show up in the Windows version, even if they are healthy.

Try restarting your PC, and format it. If it can't be done and since you've created the new key suggested above.

Repeat the steps on my earlier suggestion which is this.
    Code:
    Download this tool http://www.apacer.com/en/support/dow...r_v2.9.1.1.zip

    Extract it to your desktop.

Remember to insert your pendrive in 1st.

Now run the program "As Admin" and format your usb pendrive with it.
