    Function keys (again)

Why have the function keys been disabled in Windows 7? I know from other threads and tutorials thatthere are ways of getting atthe functions (though not if your laptop is on the old side - my Toshiba Portege can't access the option to show both a display on its screen and a video projector for example). But even a simple things like rename and help, which many programs access via F2 and F1, now don't work.

Seems silly to disable these useful functions.

They aren't "disabled", you need to install the drivers for your laptop that tell windows what the function keys do.

Have you got a F Lock key ?

Usually the F Keys are disabled by default and you need to turn them on.
