Copying rar files to a usb hard drive

    All,

Got a strange problem. I've have .rar files on the c: drive all around 90+mb each. On c: the rar files are error free (no crc errors when testing them).

When copying to a usb hard drive after copying (with no errors during the copying process) the rar files fail with a CRC error.

I've reformatted the hard drive as ntfs (with no errors) but stil the same issue.

    Any ideas?

It's like saying, "fix any broken PC, buy buying a new one".

    No joy.

Tried 7-zip but it couldn't the rar file.

Tried the other method via WinRar (open broken files) and although the files are extract they are corrupt...

Really struggling to find a solution to this, I am beginning to think the hard drive is faulty.

try extracting the contents to a prepared directory on the flash drive and see if that works... OR, extract locally then move the folder to the flash drive to see if that works. What kind of drive is it btw?

Reformatted the hard drive, but used exfat instead of NTFS, and the problem seems to have gone away, although can't explain why..!?
