Unwanted windows opening on start up

One problem solved and I have another one:

Yesterday Window installed new updates. It asked me to restart the computer. When it started I had 7 windows opening up all by themselves, all kinds of stuff. I tried again and the same windows opened up again. They are doing this ever since.

I do not want these windows opening up. How can I stop that? Can someone please help me?

    As Tews said above,

Msconfig/Startup.Msconfig/Startup. Hi, at the Start Orb / Search, type into the box msconfig click and open it at the top of the Menu page. When the window opens choose Start-up and click on it, Uncheck all the boxes, except your Anti Virus one. Click apply, then OK, and then Restart. Your Machine will shut down then, and restart. Lets see if it is one of those programs in there that was causing the grief.

On a separate note, to help you fill in your system specs with better information, download Speccy.

I tried the Msconf thing and it does not work. As a matter of fact, I messed up big times. It shut off the services and I had a heck of a time to get them back on. The windows still open. There must be 12 of them now.

    I am really frustrated,

Try a system restore to a time before you installed the updates.

    System Restore

Also if that doesn't help, have a look at this and try the fix half way down the page.

Take a screenshot of these windows and upload them. Does this happen in Safe mode? Press F8 repeatedly until you get the option.

How do you take a screen shot?

Type snip into the start menu and then choose the options. I'd also go through the troubleshooting guide in my sig. There are plenty of potential fixes there. Ask if you are unsure of any of the pointers.
