    Newbie question


    I wanted to shrink the volume that Windows 7 is on but says I need to run chkdsk first. How do I run it at an elevated level. My account is an administrator account?

    Just right-click on the cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator. Elevated Command Prompt

    The advice given by Jonathan is very important in for the proper operation of your OS. Many procedures require the "Run as Administrator" instruction. It will be needed for many repair commands and other functions. It is good that you have asked.
