control panel is not opening

    Where was the file located?
    It should be in Windows/System 32. - You don't have a problem with associates in .exe. If that was the case, you would be in much bigger trouble!

    brink, can you tell me how to relink control panel? i don't want to perform repair install. Is there any option except repair install.

    Did you follow Brink's tutorial? Click on the .EXE extention in the list, then unzip it.
    This is a .reg file .... when you click on that you will get a message if you'd like to add, merge, change, or whatever ... click "Yes" or "allow".

    doing a repair install is the quickest way to resolve this problem...it will not effect any of your programs that you currently have installed and takes very little time...try it, you'll like it ...
