Size All Columns to Fit

I was wondering if there's a way to make that the automatic default. I'm really getting tired of having resize the colums every time I open a directory.

AFAIK the only way to do it is by modifying the registry.

It's a real shame.
*sigh* Maybe they'll get it right by Windows 9.

Rather old thread, but just for reference:

Windows Explorer Columns - Change Width

In Windows Explorer, column changes are only applied to that specific folder at that specific folder location and will not be applied to any other folder unless Apply to Folders is used, or it is used to set as default for all folders.

Does anyone know how to keep this set for all windows. I have to keep setting this every time I go into a different window. In XP there used to be an option in Tools>Folder options to apply to all folders? I cant seem to find that. Cheers!

WMP is displaying the two "album art" covers for all albums. I only have two album covers and WMP has decided to display these two for all albums. When I go into "choose columns" to make WMP stop displaying album art altogether, "album art" is "grayed out" so I cannot un-check it. How could I...
