    Release date or wishful thinking?

I have just received an invite to a partners "roadshow" on the 14th April. I am not jumping to conclusions, but -- Release date??
This is for my country of abode. Maybe just a local pre publicity stunt.

A bit near the Easter holidays I would have thought for a "Release" -- I'm sure Microsoft will release this stuff when there AREN'T 100,000's of users out there with time on their hands over the holidays to download this stuff overloading their servers (yet again).

(Or maybe this is a realease stunt from the US where Holidays aren't that important -- don't they still believe even in in 2009 people only get 2 weeks per year holidays (vacations) even AFTER working for 1 year -- we aren't so bad in Europe actually with this sort of stuff).

However if it IS a "Pre-release" party -- enjoy.

    Cheers

I forgot to follow up on this. The date was changed, at the last moment, to 20th May. Possibly a sudden delay in the RC. But the date looks more realistic for a release?

May seemed to have been the month for an RC release for a while now so I wouldn't be surprised.
