    Can't use Function keys

I just got a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7. The book that came with it talks about Windows Vista. I've tried pressing the "Fn" key then the F(1,2..) key. The F(1,2..) key , then the "Fn" key. No matter what... nothing happens. What am I doing wrong. When Best Buy was "optimizing" it, did they mess something up? Help?

Do you have another keyboard that you can plug into that laptop? Doing that will let you pare down the possibilities.

Fn" Key is nothing buit like a Control key to keep control of your F1- F12, but most probable it works, try to install VLC Media Player and then Press the Fn Key and then up arrow key of the Keyboard, so check whether The Brightness is increasing or decreasing, check that and Lemme Know

Got to this link and download the Dell quick set and install it.

Its a application that will manage the activities of the buttons.

Let us know the result :)
