Making a boot DVD of Ghost files
I hope not OT - not W7, but Windows, anyway...
I want to make a new DVD from an old one in the hopes that it will be easier to read. Is it enough to download the first to my HDD and burn these files to a new one? I suspect not. Can anyone help, please?
The backstory is:
I have a dodgy 'restore' DVD created some years ago to do a special install for a batch of laptops. It is in the form of a Ghost (7, I think) image set up. Its files are (in case it helps):
02673000.crc
02673000gho
02673000txt
02673001.ghs
02673002.ghs
setenv.bat
span.bmp
G_INST, a directory.
The DVD fails in the laptop with a variety of errors at different times after setup has started: I suspect that either the drive is flakey or the DVD is a bit dark for its ageing light source... The laptop won't boot from a Flash-drive and I don't have a plug-in DVD drive. The laptop is currently wiped with 'Operating system not found' on the screen. Drat.
