Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable...

Hi, so recently every time I shut off the computer and turn it back on few hours later it always takes really long to start up only to give an error saying my desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. Now here's the catch: if i just restart the computer after the error, my computer works back to normal. But if it was perfectly normal, it wouldn't continuously give me this very annoying problem. Does anyone know why this is happening? Seriously this newly bought computer with decent specs should not have these problems, it's taking me over 10 minutes to get my computer to fully function because of its initial start up of error and I don't wanna shut down the comp manually during that process because I heard it's potentially damaging to the computer...

    Thanks.

P.S: I checked that registry that refers to the desktop and there's nothing wrong with it...

    Welcome Nad,

My first suggestion is that if the computer is still under warrnaty, return it for one that works properly.

If that is not feasible, this should work, if you do it with patience and do not try for short cuts.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
