    navigation pane and mouse wheel

Is it me or does this bother you as well

When I click on an item inthe navigation pane and want to scroll down to a certain folder in the main window, the mouse wheel stays on the nav pane. Have to go and click in the main window to scroll.

If you click the navigation pane, then the wheel should in my opinion default over to scroll on the main pane. It's a little bothersome to have to keep clikckingto scroll after i just cliked to open that item in the navitgation pane already.

confused yet? maybe the pic will better describe it. I know it's not a big deal, but......

Like in the pic i clicked on music folder in the left nav pane, i would want it to scroll over on right without having to click mouse again. Maybe it's a matter of preference, but that's mine.

    Cheers

I agree, I find that annoying as well, I think it would be better if it would just scroll on whatever window or pane that your mouse is over.

I'm most likely confused (one of my great features), but ... if you right click on the item then choose open in new window, will that get you where you want to go faster?

    I agree.

I've been surfing for a solution for a couple of hours and seems like we are not alone but the only fixes offered are third party utilities or registry hacks.

XP used to have this. Why change for change sake? The old method was far more intuitive and less cumbersome.

If someone finds a solution that is not third party software or requires a registry hack then please post it here.

this IS insanely annoying to me

Well, I found this thread on my own journey of finding a solution to the scroll wheel being "control/region" sensitive".

It's incredibly annoying to have to constantly click back and forth between the directory and content panes before being able to scroll them with my mouse's scroll wheel.

FFS... I'm still running Outlook 2003 and it scrolls the pane that my mouse pointer is over without me first having to click in the pane to activate it.

As far as I'm concerned this is a serious oversight.

I am going to continue looking. I'm wondering if there is a registry setting for Windows Explorer that would fix this.
